They are so respectful, responsible, honest and lovely ppl , I am a first time new build home buyer and have a lot of questions and concerns with my new home , and also I only have a really short of time for the bank to process my mortgage!! After being dismissed without cause in early 2015 – I consulted with and retained a law firm to establish a right for wrongful dismissal, it was not Osuji and Smith! For nearly 4 years there had been almost no progress, and a conflict of interest arose (between my law firm and the Defendant’s firm) which forced me to search for new representation.I was so fortunate to find Charles Osuji (Osuji & Smith) – I consulted with him the day before he was leaving for vacation in late December 2018. I provided him with all the info I had accumulated over the last 4 years – he reviewed it while on vacation and we agreed to work together in early 2019. My case was tough…. The defendant did everything possible to hide companies, make ridiculous offers, falsify records, deny any responsibility and delay proceedings at every step of the way – it was extremely frustrating and caused so much anxiety that I was ready to give up many times. I’m quite certain that this tactic is not uncommon in situations like this, and many “wrongful dismissed employees” do give up.I must recognize everything, and everyone involved in this for the support to keep me going! First, - I was 100% honest in all evidence that I relied on (I knew it was true even though the defendants tried to destroy it with lies and deception). Second, the support of my wife – she never lost hope or determination, Third, and most importantly was the steadfast hard work and resolve of Charles Osuji, Justin Kwon and his team! They were unstoppable – the research and investigations required to disprove all the barriers the defendants put up was incredible. Finally in November of 2021, after Charles and his team worked through all the lies, deception and legal processes, we had a court date. We were successful and were able to set an example for case law – the three points above are as critical as the legs of a three-legged stool – if you remove one you fail! After having experienced a poor legal team in the beginning I can absolutely recommend a winning team Osuji & Smith. It’s time that I share my life changing experience with Charles Osuji and OsujiSmith Lawyers.Foot in the Door Initiative (FIDI): FIDI is not just a foot in the door initiative. It’s a light at the end of the tunnel. I was in Toronto, Ontario, before I moved to Calgary, Alberta, in February 2023. I started applying for volunteer positions and articling positions at every possible law firm in Calgary, Medicine Heart, Red Deer, and other cities in Alberta.I believe I applied to almost 30 places before someone told me about the FIDI program. At first, I wasn’t that hopeful; however, when I spoke with Mr. Charles Osuji, I saw a ray of hope among all the rejections and ignored attempts to secure either a volunteer position or an articling position.Mr. Charles Osuji gave me 15 minutes, conducted a brief interview, and asked me to get in touch with Ms. Shikha Shukla, who is the coordinator of this program. I was then invited by Ms. Shikha Shukla, and another interview was conducted, and I was selected for the volunteer position.After so many rejections and ignored emails, I was almost ready to give up and was extremely demotivated, but this program came as a lifesaver, or, I can say, as my legal career saver in my life. A couple of years ago, not being happy with how our lawyer in a labor case was treating us, we contacted Charles for a consultation. He was very professional & heard what we had to say. While he advised us the case was too far along to change lawyers, he helped us to understand what was going on.
