Calgary Justice Film Festival

Shining a Light on Justice Through Film

We’re incredibly proud of Rowan Fisher, the managing lawyer of our Immigration Department, for her impactful work both in and outside the courtroom. Rowan was featured live on Global News Calgary with Bindu Suri, discussing the Calgary Justice Film Festival, now in its 19th year. As the Director of Programming, Rowan is helping this powerful festival continue its mission of bringing critical social and environmental justice issues to the forefront.

This year’s opening night had placed a spotlight on Indigenous filmmaking and showcased films and documentaries that address real issues close to home, including social justice, human rights, and social welfare. The festival not only raises awareness but also provides a free opportunity for the community to learn, engage, and be inspired by stories that truly matter.
