Black employment awareness month to address workforce challenges
Black employment awareness month is an initiative designed to connect employers with black talent. At the Petroleum Club in Calgary, the event saw various issues discussed and addressed.
Full house today as Juliette Omonigho, talented lawyer and one of the directors of our FIDI program at Osuji & Smith Lawyers, delivered a powerful speech at the ICC’s BEAM event. BEAM is a vital initiative connecting employers with African, Black, and Caribbean talent, tackling issues like pay disparities and underrepresentation.
Juliette’s speech highlighted the importance of fair opportunities and celebrated the contributions of these communities. Osuji & Smith lawyers is proud to support BEAM’s mission of empowerment and inclusion.
Our Foot in the Door Initiative (FIDI), founded by Dr. Charles Osuji (Hon. D.), helps internationally trained lawyers gain valuable Canadian work experience and seamlessly integrate into legal practice here. Through FIDI, participants learn essential legal skills, grow their professional network, and prepare for their journey as new lawyers in Canada.
