Alessia D’AversaAlessia joined Osuji & Smith in 2018 as a Student-at-Law. After she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with honours from the University of Calgary, she pursued her Juris Doctor at Thompson Rivers University.

Alessia was born and raised in the NW of Calgary and spent much of her time with the local community and volunteering. After completing law school in British Columbia, Alessia is excited to be back in her hometown and to give back to the community through legal work and insight.

Alessia chose law because of its challenging and busy work and the intellectual stimulation it provides. Above all, however, Alessia wants to work with people and to help them find efficient and successful solutions to their problems.

At Thompson Rivers University, Alessia was part of the Animal Law Association, which advocates for rights and well-being for animals. As a member of the association, Alessia organized fundraisers to raise awareness and also attended the Animal Law Conference held in Portland, Oregon, in 2017.

In her last year in law school, Alessia also participated in the Wilson Moot in Toronto, a competitive constitutional law moot.

In her spare time, Alessia enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading and traveling the world. As a foodie, you can catch her out and about at restaurants throughout the city.
